Amenities include a very small pool, which was very crowded and rowdy; a small playground and one of the KOA giant air balloons/trampolines - surrounded by a few feet of sand and a picket fence which was a little hazardous for bouncing children to crash into. They offer children's pony rides for $8; you buy a ticket in advance that morning, meet at the appropriate spot and they show up with ponies and start loading kids on. There was no orientation or organization whatsoever so you have to be assertive to get your kid on one before older kids go around twice. There was an outdoor movie Friday night, and popcorn, which was a fun night for the family. Seemed pretty clean all around, decent showers/toilet/sink rooms - just the nozzles are low and emit a sharp stream. Good little shop at the entrance for cold drinks, camping needs and a few souvenir options. Friendly and helpful staff.
We are treated like family here. We come back often to stay in the cabins. Always nice and always fun.
First, I'll say the staff were very friendly. However, the aged facilities, general 'feel' of the campground and overall maintenance of our site almost made us want to get a refund and leave. First, there was a truck parked in our assigned site - it turned into a huge ordeal to have it moved as it belonged to a relative (?) or friend of the folks that run/own the place. Second, our site must have been the resident dumping ground (pun intended) for every dog in the campground. My five and two year old boys had to dodge piles of dried dog turds the entire vacation. I had to clear away two piles with a stick just to set our tent up. I ignored (the best my nose would let me) the other three on the hill side beside our parking area. The fact that the piles were there was bothersome...the fact that they were dried tells me that there are some lazy folks about...both vacationers that don't pick-up after their animals (it's the law by the way) and staff that should review the area and clean as needed. We have stayed at many KOAs around the Knoxville/Chattanooga area and they've all been fantastic, but this location let us down a little. Probably wouldn't recommend and will not stay here again in the future...I'm sorry.
The campsites were not level. We had a pull through that supposedly would handle a setup of 100 feet. There were 2 levels to the pull through. Had a 28 foot trailer and a super cab Ford pickup that I didn't want to disconnect for the single night we stayed. Never could get everything level. Was concerned about stability of the trailer because I had to raise the front so high to even approach level...
Quiet place to bring an RV or tent, though you are placed within 15' of your neighbor. Roads and RV bays are made of large gravel (57 stone), which was sharp underfoot and harder on children to play than the concrete and grass bays at other KOAs.
Best KOA we have stayed at but have only stayed at 5. Our pull through was plenty long for our Tiffin Allegro and jeep toad. No issues with leveling. Nice deck with grill, firepit, picnic table, and bistro set. Seems to be very kid oriented and everyone well behaved. Would stay here again.
